Not myself....today!

We didn't get to picnic today.

The weather report called for a high temperature of 79 degrees and intermittent thunderstorms/showers.  Part of our plans included the kids swimming in a local creek--an idea that they were VERY excited about--and the weather just didn't match up with our plans.  Tomorrow's weather is supposed to be much more swimmer-friendly so we postponed our picnic until then.

After spending so much of my week accomplishing things, I really didn't feel like doing much around the house.  I was mostly lazy but I knew I wanted to play with my makeup....well, just because.

I had a few ideas in mind but I finally settled on entering makeup geek's Christina Aguilera inspired weekly challenge.  I have no fantasies that I'll actually win, but I had fun and I think I did a pretty decent job :)

The look I chose is from her Not Myself Tonight video.

I did get a little smudge of mascara on the eyeshadow.  But I didn't realize it until after photos were taken or I would have fixed it.

Eyes:
Urban Decay Primer Potion
120 Palette--bright yellow on lid, lighter yellow in crease to blend it out
My good 'ol generic almondine to highlight
Maybelline lineur intense liquid eyeliner in carbon black
Maybelline great lash mascara in blackest black

Face:
Monistat anti-chafing gel (primer)
Sassy Minerals foundation in cool/light
Sassy Minerals finishing powder in Light

Lips:
Fyrinnae Acidic Cherry.  It seems like this is all I wear.  I just wanted to wear red lips like Christina's in the video, but I don't have anything even remotely red like that.  In fact this is the only reddish lip shade that I own because I'm poor I'm not really that much of a red fan.

Awesome job - thats great pay off from the 120, I can't normally get the yellow to look like that. And it really suits your eye colour too :)

Thanks :) I did pat the yellow on a couple of times to get that intensity--it totally didn't happen from one swipe of the pan! Unfortunately, it seems that something in the yellows is super-irritating to my eyes. They were very itchy and watery and after I removed the makeup, my eyelids were swelled up! :(

Your yellow eye-shadow looks bitchin'!
Have fun at the picnic/swim today.

Is it just the yellow that does that? That's really strange!

I'd never used the yellow before, but the really bright pink irritates my eyes as well (although not to the extent of the yellow)I just chalked it up to there probably being carmine in the pink, but I've used the rest of my 120 palette without incident :)
